The role | Te tūnga'

This is a fixed term six-month appointment.

We are seeking a'Principal'Advisor'Organisational Risk'to'work with'the'Organisational Risk'and Assurance team. This role'will be'crucial in'delivering mahi to support a risk maturity uplift programme of work across Te Tari.

The'Principal Advisor'role will focus mainly on the deliverables for this important piece of work.'You will be confident working with senior leaders and risk practitioners across the Department to lift the department's risk management maturity, practice and capability.

As well as leading the risk maturity uplift programme, the Principal Advisor Organisational Risk will be comfortable in providing sound advice and assurance to senior leaders. This will involve monitoring and oversight of enterprise risks and providing advice for organisational risk management, methodology and practice.

You will collaborate with other specialists in the Enterprise Services branch to provide best practice advice, guidance and support on risk identification and risk management in DIA.

Relationship building and the ability to tailor and adapt according to the requirements of internal and external stakeholders is an integral part of the role. In doing so, you will help to uplift standards and contribute to the maturity of the Department's risk management practices and internal controls environment and the effectiveness of its risk and assurance system.

What you bring | Nōu te rourou

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Have a minimum of 2 years risk experience at a senior level
  • Understand risk management practice, methodology, and processes
  • Have excellent formal writing skills, active listening, and verbal communication skills
  • Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills and an eye for detail
  • Be a great team player and can work independently when necessary

The appointing range for this role is $133,348 - $166,119
