About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician, youll be responsible for preparing, distributing and managing medications for inpatients, outpatients and ward imprest systems across Hawkes Bay Hospital. Youll work closely with pharmacists, technicians and the wider clinical team to ensure timely, accurate medication supply and excellent service delivery.
Your work will include accurately picking and labelling medications, managing repacks, assisting with prescription processing, maintaining stock levels, supporting drug imprest services and communicating with wards regarding supply issues. If PACTcertified, you may also perform final accuracy checks on dispensed items.
This role is perfect for a technician who enjoys handson, detailfocused work in a fastpaced environment, with opportunities to learn, contribute to service improvement, and support exceptional patient care.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Based at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital, our Hospital Pharmacy team is supportive, skilled and committed to patientcentred care. Youll work alongside pharmacists, technicians, assistants and clinical teams across the hospital, helping maintain safe medication systems and high service standards.

About you
You are a reliable and skilled Pharmacy Technician who is committed to accuracy, teamwork and patient safety. You will have:
- A Pharmacy Technician qualification recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand.
- Knowledge of the NZ pharmacy sector, relevant legislation and PHARMAC/HML processes.
- Strong knowledge of commonly used medicines, formulations and uses.
- Effective communication skills and a positive, problemsolving attitude.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable outcomes for Māori and Pasifika.
Desired:
- National Certificate in Pharmacy (Technician) Level 5 or above.
- PACT certification.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
- Familiarity with ePharmacy (DXC).
- Advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
