Clinical Leader NCSP-R - Parental Leave Cover at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Waitematā, Auckland

About the Role

We have an opportunity available for a Senior Nurse to join our Cervical Screening Programme team based in Greenlane.

Its an exciting time to be contributing to the National Cervical Screening Programme, with the implementation of new clinical guidance, testing, and register infrastructure this year. If you have an interest in making an impact on health outcomes for our population in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland, this is a fantastic opportunity.

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical leadership to the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) Auckland Register team, within the wider Uri Ririki - Health Connection Centre. The Uri Ririki Health Connection Centre encompasses the Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR), and the National Child Health Information Platform (NCHIP) alongside other programmes. This role will also support the NCSP team leader and the URCHCC clinical lead.

You will be providing clinical leadership and guidance to the administrative staff in the NCSP Auckland Register Team, using a quality improvement approach to systems and process and data-management related to cervical screening. The role will support health care providers to ensure best practice standards for cervical screening are implemented. Providing quality, evidence-based information for all participants and providers involved in cervical screening. 

This is a fixed term opportunity, covering a staff member on parental leave for up to 12 months.

About you

If you are an experienced clinical leader with great practical experience, excellent rapport, an eye for systems, data-savvy, coaching and improvement approaches then this is a great opportunity to take on a meaningful and varied role.

 What we would need from you:

  • Registration as a Health Professional with current Annual Practising Certificate in New Zealand
  • Membership of a professional body
  • Be an authorised cervical sample taker within New Zealand NCSP
    •  Ideally also an authorised vaccinator
  • At least five years health professional experience in infant and/or child health and/or womens health
  •  Leadership experience
  •  Experience in engaging Māori and Pacific whānau with health care services
  • Sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Understanding of health equity and population health
