About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant (HCA), you will enjoy a varied and rewarding role as part of an innovative Hospital in the Home (HitH) service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Assistant and those with transferable skills to join this dynamic team. Your day will involve working across both the hospital and community settings, providing high-quality care to patients in a more flexible and responsive way. This role offers the chance to develop advanced clinical skills, with ongoing teaching and support provided, making it ideal for those committed to learning and professional growth.

The position involves rostered shifts based at either North Shore or Waitākere Hospitals, with the expectation of flexibility to work across both sites as required. You will work both independently and as part of a team, so strong collaboration skills and a clean driving licence are essential.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team provides care through the Hospital in the Home (HitH) service, delivering hospital-level care to patients in both inpatient and community settings. This innovative model supports patient-centred care while reducing the need for prolonged hospital stays.

About you

To ensure we maintain our quality of care and support we require a Health Care Assistant who has the following qualities:Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


 - A clean, full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
 - Commitment to learning and developing advanced clinical skills
 - Flexibility to work rostered shifts across North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals
 - Good command of oral and written English
