About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients and their whānau in an acute setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for people presenting with a wide range of emergency health needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your nursing practice in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to quality improvement, and role-model culturally responsive care, while supporting positive outcomes for our patients and community.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Emergency Department is a dedicated and highly skilled team that provides 24/7 urgent and emergency care to the Tairāwhiti community. We pride ourselves on being collaborative, supportive, and focused on delivering safe, patient-centred care.

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have:

Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate

Are eligible to work in New Zealand

Experience or strong interest in acute/emergency nursing

Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving Māori health outcomes

Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in high-pressure situations

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Postgraduate study or working towards PDRP advancement would be advantageous
