Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Advisor or Senior Advisor to join our Head of the Finance Profession team. Due to a secondment within the team, we have a fixed term or secondment role until 2 October 2026. The role could be for either an Advisor or Senior Advisor, depending on experience.
This small, dynamic team supports government agencies to strengthen their financial management capability, focusing on improving outcomes within and across agencies.
In this role, you’ll:
- Support the delivery of programmes and initiatives to improve financial management capability in the public sector.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training and development programmes for public service financial professionals.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to building a high-performing public sector by providing essential coordination and support.
Ō pūmanawa | About You
We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, passionate about building capability, and a whiz with running events or training. You’ll bring a proactive and collaborative attitude to the role, along with the following skills and attributes:
- Graduate qualification and experience in relevant fields such as organisational design, finance, planning within the public sector.
- A strategic advisor who can build trusted and influential relationships with public and private sector stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and supporting training or events.
- Project management capability, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities whilst balancing pace and quality.
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence.
