Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. 

About the role:

We are looking for an Oncology experienced senior nurse who is committed to the development of nurses and nursing practice to join us as a Speciality Nurse Educator, under the People and Professional Development team. This exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, confident and competent individual with the primary responsibility of providing advice and support in assessment, planning and delivery of professional development activities for staff within and across services as well as the wider health community. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a NZ registered nurse with a current annual practicing certificate and a minimum of 4 years Oncology experience and willing to provide practice development support to Oncology services under Counties Manukau District
  • Be a skilled and credible practitioner always striving to improve standards of practice
  • Be a confident and competent communicator
  • Be able to create effective working relationships across a variety of arenas
  • Be able to demonstrate good time management and manage workload independently
  • Be creative, intuitive and actively seek opportunities for the development of practice
  • Be able to empower, facilitate and support development in others
  • Be experience in planning and delivering professional development and learning activities
  • Have commitment and passion for the essentials of nursing

Essential:

  • Be a NZ registered nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Currently in a senior nurse role with experience in planning and delivering education and professional development activities
  • Have a minimum of 4+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
  • Relevant post graduate qualification completed
