About the Role

Our Physiotherapy Department at Kaitaia Hospital is seeking an administrative all-rounder to join our team. In this busy and varied role, no two days are the same youll be the first point of contact for patients and whānau, managing enquiries both in person and over the phone. Youll coordinate appointments, process referrals, maintain patient records, and support clinicians with day-to-day administrative tasks to keep the service running smoothly. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, youll help ensure a high standard of care through efficient organisation and clear communication.

About the Team/Service/Location

Kaitaia Hospital is Northland DHBs northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population of approximately 21,000. The 20-bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and paediatric ward with all the supporting services and provides a substantial community health service.

The Allied Health community physiotherapy service provides community-based services for conditions not covered by ACC. These are short-term interventions to address mobility issues or education about physical management, including for respiratory conditions.

About you

You will have:

  • Proven administration experience in a busy environment
  • Strong computer skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of people
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and priorities
