General Surgeon - Tauranga Hospital at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a part-time Specialist Oncoplastic Breast and General Surgeon to join the General Surgery team at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. 

This position is based at Tauranga Hospital with a commitment to supporting services across the Bay of Plenty with outreach clinics and theatre at Whakatane Hospital. This is a 0.72FTE position however additional hours could be available for the right candidate.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our General Surgery team consists of 10 Consultant General Surgeons, 1 Breast Fellow, 3 SET Trainees and 8 non-training Registrars. The breast team works closely with the Plastic Surgery Service, consisting of 2 Plastic Surgeons.

About you

We are seeking a specialist who is keen to join our team in a mixed generalist and Oncoplastic Breast role. The position involves delivering acute and elective services, contributing to teaching and mentoring junior staff, and undertaking associated administrative responsibilities.

This position includes participating equally in the after-hours roster for General Surgery.
