The role | Te tūnga

This role sits within the National Library of New Zealand | Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.

We have a rare, fixed-term opportunity (until mid-October 2026) for a Facilitator National Capability Services - Māori to join our team to promote an exciting new online platform. Designed to support teaching and learning for ākonga up to year 13 in kaupapa Māori education contexts, the platform has been co-designed with kura kaupapa Māori and kura-a-iwi.

The role will require you to work in our comfortable space in central Tāmaki Makaurau and also allows for 2 days working from home. If you want a role where the work you do matters, we would like to hear from you.

What you bring | Nōu te rourou

We are looking for a person who is:

  • fluent in te reo Māori - spoken and written
  • passionate about supporting educational success for ākonga Māori
  • excited about engaging kanohi ki te kanohi in kura
  • committed and will make an impact in a short space of time

To be successful in this role we are looking for experience of:

  • working in kaupapa Māori education contexts
  • engaging successfully with Māori
  • working collaboratively and fitting into new working environments with ease
  • developing effective and fit-for-purpose plans
  • delivering on planned outcomes
  • being flexible and innovative
  • finding solutions to challenges
  • existing relationships with kaupapa Māori kura would also be advantageous.

The appointing range for this role $81,441 - $101,349
