Our Security, Assurance and Information Team sits within the Enabling Services Group and partners closely with the wider Information Technology division to ensure the security and protection of our systems, applications, and information.

As a Senior Advisor, this role provides expert security advice, monitors information security risks, and supports capability uplift across the Treasury to strengthen organisational assurance.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Security Advisor to join the Enabling Services Group. This is a permanent role in which you will provide expert risk and security advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, helping to ensure our information is protected and managed appropriately.

In this role, you will work closely with Technology, Information Management, and Project teams, as well as business owners and key stakeholders across the organisation. You will provide guidance and advice to ensure required certification and accreditation processes are followed and produce high‑quality security reporting and analysis to support informed decision‑making.

• A strong understanding of government security best practices, policies, strategies, and initiatives
• Ability to work collaboratively across the Treasury
• Strong understanding of the New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM)
• Strong experience with security risk assessments and the certification and accreditation (C&A) process
• Experience in identifying threats, risks and security controls that are efficient and effective
• A strong client focus
