• Registered Nurse, Research Intensive Care Services Nelson Hospital
• This role requires a minimum of 5 years recent acute nursing experience, or significant ICU/CCU experience
• Permanent 0.3FTE working 24 hours a fortnight between the hours of 0700 and 1730 Monday to Friday
• It is an organisational requirement to work a minimum of 0.7 FTE. If you are applying externally you will need to work 0.4FTE in another role additionally

About the Role

The role will involve data collection for Intensive Care (ANZICS) as well as coordinating clinical trials within the speciality.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Nelson ICCU is a close and supportive team that works well together to provide the best outcomes for the patients and whānau that we care for. We have a nine bed unit that caters to ICU, Coronary Care and High Dependency patients. The successful candidate will undertake the research role in this unit with potential to also provide care for all these patients. Each day brings something new with opportunities to learn and grow. Our team has regular social gatherings that make the most of living in this beautiful area of New Zealand and we welcome new members to the team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced nurse who has a passion for critical care and evidence-based practice, as well as a keen interest in clinical research. You will also have the flexibility to accommodate the needs of patients undergoing clinical trials.

• Ongoing commitment to professional development in critical care nursing 
• Well developed clinical skills in an acute care setting
• Adaptability in a dynamic rapidly changing work environment 
• Working collaboratively as a proactive and supportive team member to achieve optimum health outcomes for patients requiring Intensive Care services
• Willingness to share your professional knowledge and skills within the Intensive Care team.
