About the Role
As a Health Records Associate, you will be responsible for the accurate creation, tracking, filing and maintenance of patient health records in line with the Public Records Act and New Zealand Health Record Standards. Your work ensures clinicians and services can access the right information at the right time while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and data integrity.
Your responsibilities will include preparing clinic records, filing correspondence and clinical documentation, managing record tracking systems, supporting off site storage processes, and ensuring all patient records are returned and filed within agreed timeframes. Youll liaise with a wide range of clinical and administrative teams and contribute to smooth day to day operations of the Health Records Department.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys detail focused work, values accuracy and consistency, and understands the importance of confidentiality in healthcare.

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Health Records Department within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawkes Bay, working closely with administrative staff, managers, clinicians and other departments across the organisation. The team supports hospital and outpatient services by ensuring patient information is efficiently and securely managed.
