As Clinical Effectiveness Advisor be part of our Quality, Safety and Risk (QSR) team. In this pivotal role, youll work alongside clinical leaders to identify and review risks, support learning from both routine practice and adverse events, and help drive improvements in care processes and outcomes. Your expertise in healthcare quality, patient safety, and systems thinking will make a lasting difference for patients and whānau.

About you
As a trusted advisor to our clinical directorates, youll:
- Lead and facilitate reviews of adverse events and near misses to understand risk and improve safety
- Support services to identify trends, respond to clinical risk, and implement quality improvements
- Foster and support a culture of ongoing learning and development
- Collaborate with clinicians, families of patients, and quality teams to enable safer, more effective care
- Apply just culture principles and systems thinking to support open, meaningful reviews
This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role where your voice will help shape how we respond, learn, and improve from challenges both big and small.
Were looking for someone who brings:
- A tertiary qualification in a health profession and at least 3 years of healthcare experience.
- A strong background in patient safety, clinical quality, or risk management.
- Experience leading or supporting adverse event reviews and facilitating multidisciplinary groups.
- A commitment to equity and improving Māori health outcomes, aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Critical thinking, empathy, strong communication skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
Desirable: Postgraduate study in health quality/safety, and a working knowledge of human factors, safety science, or healthcare systems improvement.
