About the role: 

Are you looking for a new and exciting role in Surgical Services? Then join us in our combined Theatre, Discharge, Admission (TADU) and Postoperative Surgical Unit (PSU).

PSU is a 12 bedded unit designed for patients needing pre-admission prior to surgery or have had a surgical procedure requiring admission for up to 48 hours in the post-operative phase.

TADU, our dedicated preoperative area, provides exceptional care for both elective and acute patients admitted for surgery from various specialties. Our compassionate team ensures a seamless transition into surgery, prioritising the patients comfort and well-being. TADU also incorporates a second stage recovery area, which attentions on the needs of day surgery patients and supports their discharge planning for home.

We are currently looking for an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our fantastic team! You will have the flexibility of working across Theatre, Admission & Discharge Unit (TADU) and the Post-Operative Surgical Unit (PSU). 

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be supporting patients through assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation. This role also involves performing general nursing duties, providing direction to healthcare support staff, and seeking guidance from Registered Nurses or other registered health practitioners when needed. Enrolled Nurses may work across a range of clinical settings and play an important role in supporting and mentoring new staff, students, and graduate Enrolled Nurses.

Essential:

• NZ Registered Enrolled Nurse with a current APC
• 2+ years surgical experience as an EN in NZ
• Can do attitude with initiative and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated initiative to improve quality of care for patients and whaanau
