About the Role

Applicants are sought for the Clinical Leader role for the Acute Mental Health Inpatient and After Hours District and Hospital Services. This is a part time role (0.5 FTE).

Working in partnership with the Operations Manager, the Clinical Leader is responsible for providing clinical and strategic oversight for the sector. Responsibilities of the role include leading clinical governance, providing expert clinical guidance, managing medico-legal matters, overseeing recruitment and credentialing, and driving improvements to quality of care and client safety.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This position is responsible for providing clinical leadership for the following services: 

• Te Whare o Matairangi.
• Te Whare Ahuru.
• Crisis Resolution Service (CRS) and Emergency Department (ED) Mental Health Team.
• Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) (includes Te Whare Ra Uta). 
• Consultation Liaison Psychiatry.
• MHAIDS Operations Centre.

About you

You will have:

• Relevant tertiary level qualifications or equivalent in health leadership.
• A clinical qualification.
• Professional registration and current APC.
• Be able to use clinical expertise to support and lead others.
• Be committed to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori whānau.
• Extensive knowledge and perspective of Mental Health, Addiction and/or Intellectual Disability service delivery.
