About the role

The Chronic Pain Service at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau District is seeking a senior registered nurse with experience or a strong interest in chronic pain management to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical expertise within a highly specialised multidisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Doctors with a special interest in pain management.

The Chronic Pain Service is based at our purpose-built outpatient facility at Manukau Health Park and other localities. Our service works with patients living with chronic pain and supports a wide range of complex and challenging conditions. The successful applicant will contribute advanced clinical skills and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care, innovation and excellence.

 

We welcome applications from registered nurses who possess:

  • Registered Nurse with the New Zealand Nursing Council
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • At least 5 years post-registration experience in a relevant clinical environment
  • A commitment to postgraduate education

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Experience with patients with chronic pain, chronic/complex conditions or mental health conditions
  • Experience practising within a multidisciplinary team
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
  • Strong patient and whaanau focus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders and groups
  • Strong initiative and outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop innovative approaches to a variety of situations
  • An understanding of Counties Manukau District processes and values
