About the role

Anatomical Pathology Service (APS) is looking to fill the role of Transition Project & Service Improvement Manager in a full-time, fixed term (18 months) capacity.

This is a senior management role providing transitional project oversight for the relocation of Anatomic Pathology Service (APS), Mt Wellington to a new facility and associated service improvements.

The role, in conjunction with the Service Leads, involves the planning and monitoring of the project and project deliverables, development of project timelines, risk management and effective engagement with and communication to stakeholders.

The role is responsible for scoping, evaluating and implementing operational changes required for an optimised way of working in the new facility.

About the Service/Location

The Anatomic Pathology Service (APS) provides community-referred histology, cytology, HPV and cervical cytology services for the greater Auckland region. Currently our laboratory is located in Mt Wellington, but relocating now to a new facility.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Health service management qualification
  • Senior leadership success in a complex operational environment
  • Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve an outcome
  • Intimate knowledge of the New Zealand Health Sector
  • Experience in Medical laboratories
  • Expertise in financial reporting and analysis
  • Effective use of business support tools and reporting
  • An understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role
