About the Role
As Administrative Support, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of outpatient clinics and treatment services. Your day will involve providing exceptional frontline service to patients and their whānau, managing patient appointments, coordinating clinic schedules, supporting clinicians, and other administrative tasks.
Youll be the first point of contact for many patients, ensuring a welcoming, respectful, and efficient experience. Working closely with clinical staff, you will help maintain patient flow, prepare clinical documentation, and support the wider service with high-quality administrative coordination. This is a busy and rewarding role where organisation, empathy and attention to detail are key.

About the Team/Service/Location
With the new Radiation Oncology build (Te Hihiri Whakahauora) due to become operational in July 2026, there will be complete cancer care provided for the majority of Te Tai Tokerau patients great news for our patients! This role will be primarily based in Te Hihiri Whakahauora / Radiation Oncology Reception and will be an exciting part of the new service.
We currently have two Haematologists, one registrar and one CNS for the clinical Haematology service. There are five Medical Oncologists, two registrars, a MOSS, and two CNSs for the Medical Oncology service providing clinic appointments for patients in Te Tai Tokerau. We also provide SACT regimens for those patients currently on treatment. There is a team of RNs and admin staff within the unit within the Jim Carney Cancer Treatment Centre.

About you
As an experienced administrator, you bring strong organisational skills and a calm, patient-focused approach to a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will also have:
- Proven administrative experience with strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, empathetic manner
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural safety in a health setting
