About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, motivated and friendly Therapy Assistant to join our Allied Health Therapy team at Auckland Hospital for a 12-month fixed term full-time role (40 hours per week) position. Working as part of a large team, you will be supporting the Allied Health Therapists to deliver care to patients and the key responsibilities will include:

  • assisting the therapists to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals
  • working with patients 1:1 and facilitating groups
  • carrying out rehabilitation plans
  • assisting with equipment issuing and general cleaning of equipment
  • day-to-day administrative tasks

About the Team/Service/ Location

We have a supportive Allied Health team based at Auckland Hospital. You will receive onboarding and orientation to our ward area/s with support from our Therapists and Assistant Coordinator.

About you

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience of working with people from a wide range of ages and cultures
  • An understanding of rehabilitation, illness and disability
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physically fit
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Health Care Assistant Level 4 qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • A clean, full NZ driving licence
