About the Role

Were looking for an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our small, dynamic team in our busy rural Emergency Department and Outpatient clinics. This is a great opportunity to work across a wide scope of practice, support a diverse community, and be part of a team that thrives on collaboration, flexibility, and whakawhanaungatanga.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to respond to a variety of acute presentations.
  • Maintain a calm and professional presence in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to students and less experienced staff.
  • Provide Nursing support to our numerous outpatient clinics.

About the Team/Service

Our Emergency Department provides urgent care to a broad population across the South Waikato. Youll be part of a small, supportive team where no two days are the same, and your scope of practice is wide and meaningful.

About You

What were Looking For (Required Skills and Experience)

  • NZ work visa & current Annual Practicing Certificate;
  • At least 2 years experience in emergency, acute, or rural hospital nursing.
  • Confident in working autonomously and making sound clinical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and cultural competency, particularly in engaging with Māori and rural whānau.
  • Passionate about rural health equity and delivering patient-centred care.
  • Escort or transfer of patient experience
  • Triage and/or plastering skills would be desirable.
