About the Role

We are after a proactive, confident and energetic Healthcare Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain healthcare experience in a rural setting. You will contribute to the friendly, cohesive team by providing expert care to the patients.

You will be responsible for assisting nursing staff with patient care - their personal cares and activities. Ensuring the ward environment is tidy, safe and hazard free.

About the Service

Oxford Community Hospital is a 15-bed community facility.  Our team provide hospital level continuing care of the elderly, palliative care and respite care for the local community and as part of the wider team of Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury.

About You

• Flexible to cover shifts across Monday - Sunday; morning, afternoon and night
• Punctuality, reliability and excellent interpersonal skills
• Versatile, caring, able to think outside the square and use your initiative
• An interest in activities and cooking is an advantage
• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant is highly desired
