About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) Tracker to join our Oncology & Cancer Services team.
This is a critical coordination role where you will track and monitor patient pathways to ensure timely access to cancer treatment and support delivery against national health targets, including the 31-day and 62-day faster cancer treatment indicators.
In this role, you will:
Monitor and track patient pathways using the Cancer Care System (FCT database)
Coordinate with clinical and non-clinical teams to support patient flow and timely access to care
Identify and escalate potential delays or breaches in treatment timeframes
Collect, enter, and validate data to ensure accurate reporting
Contribute to service improvement through reporting and analysis of trends and barriers
Support reporting requirements, audits, and data quality standards
This is an administrative and coordination role that supports clinical teams - no clinical decision-making is required.

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Faster Cancer Treatment team, working closely with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patients receive timely care.
The team has shared accountability for achieving national cancer targets, including ensuring that 90% of patients receive cancer management within 31 days of the decision to treat.
This is a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, communication, and a shared commitment to patient outcomes are key to success.

About you
You will be a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
You will bring:
Strong administrative and data management skills, including accuracy in data entry and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
Confidence working with Microsoft Office and data systems
Knowledge of medical terminology
A commitment to quality improvement and delivering excellent service
Ideally, you will also have:
Experience working within a hospital or health environment
Understanding of cancer pathways or waiting time standards
A relevant tertiary qualification
You will also demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supporting equitable health outcomes for Māori.
