About the Role
We are seeking an experienced mental health nurse with advanced skills in assessment and management of complex eating disorder presentations. In this role you will:
provide a liaison consultation role that supports service delivery and/or co-ordination for clients with suspected eating disorders across the age range and across urban and rural sites
be the liaison for Taranaki, and regularly attend the regional eating disorder supervision forum monthly and participate in regional Eating Disorders Steering Group meetings
provide consultation, liaison, supervision and advice to clinicians with clients with disordered eating or eating disorders. Training packages will link to the hub and spoke model.
develop and provide education and training programmes for clinicians, clients and their families/whanau.
ensure that the region implements strategic objectives.
facilitate access to appropriate and effective care pathways between primary, secondary and tertiary level care by providing high quality specialist eating disorders clinical consultation and liaison for tangata whaiora, and their family and whānau in the Te Whatu Ora Taranaki across the age range.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Based on site at Taranaki Base Hospital the role works across the child & adolescent and adult MH teams, inpatient mental health and medical ward setting as well as liaises and connects with primary health providers across the Taranaki area. This role provides support to acute medical admissions for eating disordered whaiora working closely with the MH Dietitian.

About you
Successful candidates will be:
- Minimum three years experience post registration in mental health.
- Significant experience working with people with eating disorders and training in therapeutic modality specific to eating disorders
- Supervision qualification
- Evidence of teaching/training experience
- Therapeutic counselling skills
- Experience working with tangata whaiora across a variety of cultural backgrounds
- Contemporary knowledge and evidence basis for current practice in own discipline. o Knowledge of working with issues of Child Protection, Intimate Partner Violence and Safeguarding Adults o Understanding of trauma informed care and practices
