Physiotherapist - Musculoskeletal Outpatients at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Taranaki, Taranaki

About the Role

Musculoskeletal Outpatients Physiotherapist 0.5 FTE

We are seeking a NZ Registered Physiotherapist who is keen to further their musculoskeletal experience by working in a busy hospital outpatients department. This is a part time position of 20 hours/week. 

This position is largely based in the MSK outpatient department in New Plymouth working closely with Hand Therapists, Inpatient Physiotherapists and Orthopaedic Physiotherapists. 

The role may require you to work out of health facilities in rural locations including Hawera, Waitara and Stratford so a current full or restricted driver's licence is a must. 

This role can also include rostered weekend work and on call work based on your previous experience and after a period of training/orientating to relevant competencies if desired.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This work occurs within the Physiotherapy department at Taranaki Base Hospital or Hawera hospital or can occur in community locations.

About you

You will need to have: 

A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in a musculoskeletal setting

Current NZ Physiotherapy Annual Practising Certificate

Valid work Visa for NZ 

Drivers licence

A passion for teaching self-management strategies

An interest in best practice arthritis management and pain management strategies

Problem solving approach

Excellent cultural knowledge & practice Te Reo speaking is an advantage

Excellent communication skills to work with other staff and patients

Excellent computer skills

Desire for ongoing self-directed learning

Working visa/NZ residence (as appropriate)
