- Part Time, fixed term until April 2027, 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE) rostered and rotating sifts

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), you will provide safe, evidence based and whanau centred care to newborns requiring specialised support.
You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and deliver nursing interventions that support the health, development and wellbeing of neonates. You will work closely with parents and whānau, providing education, guidance and emotional support throughout their babys care journey.
The role involves working collaboratively with paediatricians, nurses, allied health and the wider multidisciplinary team, while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to safe staffing practices. You will also support student nurses and new staff, participate in ongoing professional development, and contribute to continuous improvement within the service.

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Paediatric Services team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital, working within the Special Care Baby Unit. The service provides specialist neonatal care to babies requiring additional monitoring, treatment and support, working closely with maternity services and wider hospital teams.

About you
You are a compassionate and capable nurse with a strong interest in neonatal care and supporting whānau during a critical time. You will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage time effectively in a clinical environment
- IV designation
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable health outcomes
Desired:
- A current PDRP portfolio
- Neonatal or Special Care Baby Unit experience
