About the Role

As a Registered Nurse within the Older Persons Mental Health Service, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients and their whānau. Working across community and clinical settings, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive mental health assessments
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans
  • Support independence, wellbeing, and quality of life
  • Manage a varied and meaningful caseload
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to service development and support students and new staff

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Older Persons Mental Health Service is a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering holistic, culturally safe, and equitable care. We work in close partnership with primary care, aged residential care providers, and wider health services across Hawkes Bay to achieve the best outcomes for our community.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
  • At least five years experience in mental health nursing, ideally within community or older persons mental health services
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and improving equitable health outcomes for Māori
  • A current full drivers licence and the ability to effectively engage with patients, whānau, and multidisciplinary teams
