Clinical Digital Implementation Specialist at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Auckland

About the Role

This role sits at the heart of clinical digital transformation, supporting the implementation of key digital systems and tools across hospital services. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure successful go-live delivery, providing hands-on support, troubleshooting issues in real time, and ensuring staff are confident using new systems.

Youll play a key role in assessing service readiness, supporting training and adoption, and embedding new ways of working into frontline care. This is a delivery-focused role where your ability to engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes will directly contribute to improved patient and staff experience.

About you

You bring practical experience delivering digital or clinical system implementations in complex environments, with a strong focus on outcomes, adoption, and service impact. You have a clinical background or deep familiarity with clinical environments, giving you the credibility and insight to work alongside frontline teams and translate digital change into real-world practice.

  • Experience implementing or supporting clinical or digital systems (e.g. EMR/EHR or hospital-based applications)
  • A clinical background or hands-on experience working within clinical settings, with an understanding of how care is delivered at the frontline
  • Confident supporting go-live delivery, including troubleshooting and frontline user support
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians and operational teams
  • Experience delivering training and driving system adoption across diverse user groups
  • Focused on achieving adoption, meeting implementation milestones, and tracking issues/risks

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the public health sector or large-scale health systems
  • A clinical qualification or registration (e.g. nursing, allied health, or medical background) with experience bridging clinical and digital workstreams
  • Familiarity with clinical systems, digital health programmes, or implementation methodologies
  • Understanding of change management principles and stakeholder engagement approaches
