About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable Administrator to join the busy Adult Emergency Department (AED) and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) team at Auckland City Hospital.
This is a fully onsite, part-time (0.8 FTE) role within one of the hospitals most dynamic and fast-paced clinical environments. You will work as part of a shared administrative pool, providing essential support to clinical leadership and operational teams across AED and CDU.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of emergency services, where accuracy, responsiveness, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
Hours of Work
Working hours are:
- 7:30am 3:30pm
- 8:00am 4:30pm
This is a fully onsite position at Auckland City Hospital, Grafton, within the Emergency Department.
Some ad-hoc flexibility may be considered; however, regular or guaranteed flexible working arrangements are not available due to service requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Professional, calm, and responsive under pressure
- Experienced in administrative support (health or hospital experience desirable)
You will also:
- Provide high-quality administrative support across AED and CDU
- Assist with coordination of clinical and operational processes
- Support documentation, communication, and data accuracy
- Contribute to the efficient flow of emergency department operations
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff across the service

The Adult Emergency Department at Auckland City Hospital is one of the busiest emergency services in New Zealand, providing acute and emergency care to a large and diverse population.
The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) supports short-stay observation and assessment, working closely with AED to ensure timely and effective patient care.
Together, these services operate in a high-intensity environment where teamwork, responsiveness, and coordination are critical to patient outcomes.
