About the Role
You will work with pre- and post-operative care within the Neurosurgery ward, providing support and assistance alongside a multi-disciplinary team caring for patients undergoing brain and spine surgical procedures. This includes patients moving out from HDU/ICU and transferring from other hospitals. The successful applicant will need to be flexible and have good prioritisation and time management skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Attend to patient needs with compassion and diligence.
- Assist and support Registered Nurses with delegated tasks to provide optimal patient care.
- Ensure smooth patient flow.
- Provide a clean, safe and tidy environment for both patients and staff.
- Maintain stock levels and distribute supplies, linens and equipment throughout the ward.

About the Service
The Waikato neurosurgical department, which has been running for 20 years, receives and provides care to patients across the Midlands region for acute and elective management.
About you
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to work rostered shifts, including nights and weekends
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and a solution-focused attitude.
- Demonstrates prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
