About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, you will provide high quality, evidence based care to critically unwell patients requiring complex and intensive monitoring and interventions. Youll complete comprehensive assessments, plan and evaluate nursing care, and use advanced clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
Working closely with intensivists, allied health, and wider hospital teams, you will contribute to safe, coordinated, and culturally responsive care for patients and their whānau. Your role includes maintaining accurate documentation, supporting new staff and students, actively participating in Variance Response Management (VRM), and contributing to quality improvements within the ICU.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Intensive Care Unit at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital provides specialist care to adults and paediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring, organ support and advanced interventions. Youll join a dedicated, collaborative ICU team committed to delivering safe, innovative and compassionate care in a fastpaced environment.

About you
You are a clinically confident and adaptable nurse with a passion for critical care. You will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a Critical Care Unit.
- At least 5 years acute nursing experience.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work effectively in high pressure situations.
- Commitment to culturally safe practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Desired:
- A current PDRP portfolio.
- Experience caring for critically ill paediatric patients.
- Experience with CRRT or ICP monitoring.
