About the Role

As a Clinical Midwife Coordinator, you will provide day to day clinical leadership and coordination across maternity services, ensuring safe, high - quality, and efficient care delivery. Youll act as a central point of communication, working closely with midwifery teams, obstetric services, and wider hospital teams to support patient flow, resource allocation, and clinical decision - making.

This is a dynamic, hands - on leadership role where youll balance coordination responsibilities with clinical expertise - supporting staff, managing complex situations, and leading service improvement initiatives. Youll play a key role in maintaining quality and safety standards, while contributing to projects that enhance maternity services and improve experiences for women and their whānau.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Maternity Services team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Youll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering safe, culturally responsive care and improving outcomes for our diverse community.

About you

As a Clinical Midwife Coordinator, you will bring:

  • Registration as a Midwife with a current practising certificate in New Zealand
  • At least 5 years recent midwifery experience across a range of settings
  • Proven clinical leadership capability and confidence managing complex situations
  • Strong communication and relationship - building skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe, whanau - centred care
