Community Occupational Therapist North

  • Permanent, Full-time role (1.0 FTE)
  • Allied Health Community Team Northshore base

About the role

We are ideally looking for someone who has experience working in a community physical setting, providing standardised and informal occupational performance assessments, remedial and compensatory interventions including; rehabilitation interventions, equipment solutions, housing modifications and wheelchair and seating interventions. Ideally you will have proven skills in Occupational Therapy assessment with complex clinical cases and prescription of complex equipment whilst working as part of an multidisciplinary team.

About You

You will need to be confident in your skills as an Occupational Therapist and enjoy working within a multi disciplinary team in the community setting. 

As a New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist, you enjoy working with all age ranges and in particular older adults or adults with complex neurological presentations. You are committed to providing excellent service in the community to meet our promise of best care for everyone in addition to continuous quality improvement. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills to manage a clinical caseload.

We are ideally looking for someone who has experience working in a community physical health setting or experience working with complex physical health conditions in an acute or rehab settings. You will also have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team with good time management skills. EMS accreditation in wheelchair and seating level one and/ or two and EMS accreditation in complex housing is preferred, however not essential, as on the job training can be supported for those with a willingness to learn and upskill.
