About the Role

Based in central Auckland, our Paediatric Cardiac and Congenital Service is the only provider of cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants and children, young people and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease across New Zealand. We also deliver our services to infants and children, young people and adults across the Pacific Basin. 

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our team as a Nurse Specialist Surgical. Working as nurse specialist within the PCCS team, you will be part of a dynamic, enthusiastic, positive and passionate multi-disciplinary team. You will provide specialist nursing advice, care and expertise, both in direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for patients across the service.

About you

• Be an experienced Paediatric or Adult Cardiology registered nurse with 5 years experience and will either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council.
• Either have or be working towards a post graduate diploma or masters qualification
• Have proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent
• Be able to play a strategic role within the service to ensure service and organisational objectives are met
• Have excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a bi-cultural environment
• Have experience in a leadership role with a strong commitment to quality healthcare
