About the Role

As a Pre-Analytical Technician, your primary responsibility will be the collection of laboratory specimens, assisting with data entry (registration) and specimen preparation for testing.

You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment to delivery your mahi, contributing to the success of our busy laboratory.

This casual role may include weekend shifts, so if you think this position is a good fit for you and you would be a good fit for our department we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver a high-quality, timely service with a strong attention to detail.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in specimen collection and data entry.
• Communicate empathetically and professionally with patients and colleagues.
• Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council is preferred, but not required full training will be provided.
• Healthcare or customer service experience is an advantage.

Operating on a 24/7 roster, the department is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring specimens are handled accurately and promptly to support timely diagnosis and treatment.

About you

• Able to follow instructions and established procedures accurately.
• Understand and respond to patient needs with empathy.
• Maintain a moderate level of fitness for hospital-wide mobility.
• Work effectively independently and within a team.
• Phlebotomy or healthcare experience is preferred.
