Medical Staffing Unit Administrator - RMO Unit at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

  • Based at Tauranga Hospital
  • Permanent - Full Time position - 40 hours per week

About the Role

The Medical Staffing Unit at the Bay of Plenty District Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Administrator to join our team.  

Some of your duties will include:

  • Producing and maintaining rosters
  • Ensuring day to day management of RMO staffing levels
  • Assisting with the preparation of RMO orientation programmes
  • Working with business leaders and locum agencies to manage SMO/RMO leave planning
  • Assisting with the recruitment of RMOs
  • Managing the administrative requirements for RMOs
  • Organise Rental and Accommodation
  • Collation of credentialling start-up paperwork and processing this on appropriate systems
  • Facilitate Orientation sessions
  • Monthly Reporting

About the Team/Service/ Location

Youll be joining a highly skilled, collaborative, and passionate team. The medical staffing unit is responsible for 256 Resident Medical Officers working across the two hospital sites Tauranga and Whakatāne.

About you

Skills required for this role:

  • Roster writing and maintenance
  • Ideally you will have had experience working within a hospital/medical industry
  • A background in HR support and recruitment
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Confident and comfortable working in a complex and changing environment
  • High level of attention to detail and a solution focused mind-set
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage fluctuating workloads
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills
