Nurse Educator - Cancer and Blood Services at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Auckland

About the Role

Our service is seeking a motivated and experienced Nurse Educator to join the Regional Cancer and Blood Service based at Auckland City Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to advance oncology nursing practice through the delivery of high-quality education, professional development and clinical leadership. The role focuses on supporting the development of a capable and confident oncology nursing workforce across both tertiary and community settings, helping to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expert oncology nursing education
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver education programmes for the oncology nursing workforce
  • Support competency assessment, professional development and workforce capability initiatives
  • Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement and clinical excellence
  • Work collaboratively with nursing leadership, multidisciplinary teams and regional stakeholders
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of oncology services across the Northern Region

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum Level 3, preferably Level 4 Chemotherapy Certification, with significant oncology nursing experience
  • A strong commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Postgraduate qualifications, preferably at Master's level
  • Experience in adult education, coaching and workforce development
  • Excellent communication, leadership and relationship management skills
  • The ability to influence practice and support change across a range of clinical environments
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant clinical systems
