About the Role
You will work within the General Surgery ward providing support and assistance to the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures pre and post operatively. This includes step down HDU/ICU and trauma patients. The successful applicant will be flexible, with good prioritisation and time management skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Attend to patient needs with compassion and diligence
- Assist Registered Nurses with delegated tasks
- Ensure smooth patient flow
- Maintain a clean environment for both patients and staff
- Support the nursing team

The Waikato Surgical Department is a leading tertiary care facility serving patients throughout the Midlands region. You will work alongside Registered Nurses to provide optimal patient care. Were a supportive team that provides opportunities for career advancement and skill development.
About you
Skills and experience required for the role:
- Previous experience within a healthcare setting (experience working in an acute setting within a New Zealand hospital as an HCA is desirable)
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and a solution-focused attitude
- Ability to prioritise and problem-solve
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
