Mō te tūnga | About the role

 

The role of Frontline Station Support Officer is to provide customer service for our front counter based at the Tokoroa Police Station providing the same service at our Putaruru Police Station when required.  Everyday you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner.  You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately.

 

The role requires someone with excellent customer service skills.  The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail with a can-do attitude.

 

The role of Frontline Station Support Officer provides operational and administrational support to Police which includes but is not limited to, front counter customer service, data entry, use of Police systems and file management.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment.
  • Managing challenging situations involving members of the public in a professional, respectful and empathetic manner.
  • Recording of complaints from members of the public, answering general enquiries and performing reception duties such as managing contractors and visitor access.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent keyboard and computer skills, with sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Utu ā-tau | Salary 

 

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $70,030 and $73,154 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
