- Mon-Fri: 8.00am to 4.30pm

We are looking for an experienced NZ registered Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Takapuna.

Te Whatu Ora Waitemata serves the communities of North and West Auckland and the Rodney District, a population of nearly 550,000. Dedicated to the delivery of public health care, Waitemata is committed to best care for everyone - to the patient, their family/whanau, the community and iwi, and the healthcare workforce.
The North Adult Mental Health Service provides a range of services to people aged 18-65 years who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
About the role
We are hoping to find enthusiastic, skilled, mental health professionals to join a new multi-disciplinary brief intervention team. The team will provide responsive, culturally safe, person and whānau centered interventions that meet the needs of people who do not need acute or long term recovery treatment but would benefit from intensive, brief support before returning to the care of their GP and community providers.
The service will be responsive to Māori health inequities, provide culturally safe care that is informed by the needs of those seeking support and their whanau. Guiding principles of the team are; person centred, brief, and intensive treatment with emphasis on connecting people into their community supports and resources.

About You
The successful candidate will be
- competent in risk assessment and formulation
- confident in delivering core mental health interventions
Requirements
- Current practising certificate and professional registration from OTBNZ
- Relevant knowledge and experience of occupational therapy and process standards
- Knowledge of the recovery approach
- NZ full driver's licence
- Legal right to work in New Zealand (overseas candidates are welcome to apply)
- Previous mental health experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
