About the Role

CVICU stands at the forefront of specialized nursing care, grounded in clinical expertise, research, education, and innovation. As the National Center for Heart and Lung transplants, LVAD implantations, and ECMO, our 26-bed adult ICU delivers highly specialised care.

This 24-hour service at Auckland City Hospital caters to elective and acute cases. We provide intensive care for a spectrum of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, offering unparalleled learning opportunities within New Zealand.

We foster continuous professional development through ongoing education and subsidized postgraduate study. Our 12-hour shift roster supports work-life balance, while our robust orientation benefits both new and experienced ICU nurses. A guided progression path leads to senior leadership roles across Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Our global peer support network eases your transition into the New Zealand nursing landscape.

About you

Experience

• Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
•  At least 3 years post-registration experience in ICU/HDU is preferred for this role.

Qualifications 

• Registration from Nursing Council of NZ.

• Demonstrate capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
