Clinical Pharmacist at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

  • Permanent, full time position 40 Hours a week
  • May include participation in weekend shifts as rostered.

About the Role

We have a role available for a capable pharmacist to provide a clinical pharmacy service to our patients at Whakatane Hospital. Whakatane hospital is a smaller general hospital with a big heart, serving a diverse regional population. You will be predominantly based at Whakatane, but there will be some travel to our larger Tauranga site to support your learning and development. Its the best of both worlds.

Our experienced clinical team are managing a growing service. We can support your development across multiple aspects of hospital pharmacy practice.

The applicant must be a team player, with a passion for clinical pharmacy and have excellent communication skills. All pharmacists at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty work with multi-disciplinary teams as part of their medicines management roles. This role also supports dispensary services and includes participation in weekend shifts if rostered.

About You

The successful applicant will be patient focused, have excellent communication skills and be willing to share their knowledge. Participation in on-call and weekend roster is an expectation. You must be registered or be able to register with the Pharmacy Council of NZ.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4500 staff.
