Registered Nurse - Theatre at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

This permanent full-time position offers the chance to join the skilled perioperative team at Tauranga Hospital. The role involves delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing a variety of acute and elective surgical procedures. You will be working 1 FTE (40 hours per week) across rostered shifts, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team.

About the Team/Service/Location

Tauranga Hospitals Perioperative Department provides care across multiple specialties in a busy secondary hospital setting. The team is committed to safe, efficient, and culturally responsive care, operating in a modern environment with strong collegial support and a focus on continuous improvement.

About you

An experienced Registered Nurse with a theatre background and a calm, professional approach. The ability to work across diverse surgical specialties and support the wider team is essential. A proactive mindset, cultural humility, and clear communication skills will serve you well in this role.

What you will bring:

  • Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years experience in theatre nursing
  • A commitment to delivering safe, high-quality surgical care
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and quality improvement
