About the Role

As a coronary care unit nurse, you will be looking after patients who are going through acute cardiac events. We primarily care for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome, rhythm disturbances and acute or end stage heart failure. Tauranga Hospital has two Cath Labs, our patients may have interventions such as Cardiac Angiography and Stenting, device implants (pacemakers and defibrillators) and Ablations.

This role would suit an RN who would like the opportunity to get Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, or someone looking for a change from their current role.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Tauranga Hospital is a busy, acute in-patient unit comprising a clinical team of Medical, Nursing and Allied Health professionals. We provide acute Coronary Care for patients within the Bay of Plenty region. We are a team comprising experienced nursing staff and are located in the newly built CCU, offering a variety of educational opportunities, training and support.

About You

Preferred candidates will have two years post graduate experience and are interested in working and learning about Cardiology.

• Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
• A minimum of two years post-registration experience, ideally with recent exposure to acute or critical care settings
• Critical thinker with a can-do, collaborative attitude
• Demonstrates the skills to work in a fast-paced environment
• A calm, positive mindset and willingness to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic clinical environment
