About the Role

This position exists to provide a high quality, culturally appropriate, therapeutic support for whanau living with or affected by perinatal mental Health or addiction issues. This role will be based at Te Whare Oranga and will work with the Infant Maternal Mental Health Clinical Specialist and across the community groups who support Perinatal Mental Health up to the age of 12 months.

The role will work in an assertive outreach model adopting a whatever it takes approach to engage with whanau and build a therapeutic relationship.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Infant Maternal Mental Health team comprises of Psychiatry, Registered nurses, and a whanau support worker. Each role has their individual professional responsibilities and work together as a team to develop a whanau centred plan.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Peer support or lived experience with Perinatal Infant Maternal Mental Health
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Empathy and compassion
  • Enthusiasm
