Registered Nurse - Orthopaedic Clinic at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital

Location: Wellington Orthopaedics Outpatients Department, Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru

Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.7 FTE Rostered and Rotating Registered Nurse

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse join our dedicated Orthopaedic Outpatients team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Wellington Orthopaedics Clinic, Te Wao Nui, and Kenepuru Outpatients Department, providing care to orthopaedic patients in outpatients, acute and inpatient settings.

As part of our clinical team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting the smooth operation of orthopaedic clinics. Our nurses are passionate about orthopaedic nursing, with specialist expertise in plaster and cast application, wound management, and patient education. You will work closely with medical, allied health, administrative and nursing colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

About the Team/Service Location

The Orthopaedics Service provides assessment, treatment and ongoing management for people with injuries and fractures, along with congenital, infective, degenerative and malignant disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Our outpatients clinics, located in Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital, operate 8.00am to 4.30pm and see more than 25,000 patients each year.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have registration with NZ Nursing Council with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Have a current NZ Work visa and New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment
  • Show enthusiasm for clinical excellence, innovation and ongoing professional development
  • Ideally have experience in orthopaedic, surgical  or outpatient nursing, although this is not essential

 You will be a proactive and adaptable nurse, committed to delivering the best possible experience and outcomes for patients
