About the Role

As a Community Mental Health Nurse, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessment, treatment, care coordination, and support to tāngata whaiora and their whānau within a community-based setting. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will develop therapeutic relationships, deliver evidence-based interventions, and support individuals to achieve their recovery goals while maintaining independence and wellbeing within their communities.

Our Mental Health and Addiction Services team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, community-focused care across Te Tai Tokerau. Youll join an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, professional growth, and innovative approaches to improving outcomes for tāngata whaiora and their whānau.

About you

As a Community Mental Health Nurse, you will bring a passion for supporting people experiencing mental health challenges and a commitment to delivering culturally safe, recovery-focused care. You will have:

• Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and a current practising certificate
• Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health nursing, with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within health care practice
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Ability to work autonomously, manage a varied caseload, and contribute positively to service improvement initiatives
