About the Role

We are seeking an inspirational Clinical Team Leader with strong alcohol and other substance addiction clinical background to manage our Alcohol and Other Drugs Team within the Mental Health & Addiction Services. This service includes opioid substitution treatment, case management, counselling, group work, and working alongside other parts of the mental health and addictions service.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will be primarily accountable for the management of our counselling, allied health, nursing and administration team and ensuring safe clinical care practice standards and the best care outcomes for people experiencing challenges with alcohol and other drug addiction.

About you

Successful candidates will be:

• Health practitioner with current APCs and scope of practice to enable working in mental health and addiction services (AOD Counsellor, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker);
• 5+ years experience in community based mental health &/or addiction services with excellent addiction specialty knowledge and impeccable practice standards;
• Demonstrate a motivational leadership style and be able to build a cohesive team and facilitate service development;

• Ability to work under pressure, be a good team player, demonstrate leadership skills and positively contribute to service delivery;
• Adept at developing strong working relationships both within specialist Mental Health & Addiction Services as well as NGO and primary stakeholders;
• Excellent interpersonal skills is a must as well as a commitment to continuous learning, is innovative and whai ora/whanau focused.
• Recovery and harm reduction focussed.
• Collaborative and focussed on driving best innovative practice across the addiction setting.
