The Role:

Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau is seeking an experienced and passionate Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) Coordinator to lead the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of our Violence Intervention Programme across the district.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in reducing the impact of family violence, intimate partner violence, child abuse, and neglect through leadership, education, quality improvement, and interagency collaboration. You will work alongside healthcare professionals, community partners, government agencies, and cultural leaders to strengthen patient safety and improve outcomes for vulnerable tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, and communities.

As the VIP Coordinator, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Violence Intervention Programme, ensuring alignment with Ministry of Health Family Violence Intervention Guidelines and best practice approaches to child protection and family violence intervention.

You will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening systems that support staff to identify, respond to, and refer people affected by violence, while fostering strong partnerships both within Health New Zealand and across the wider community sector.

This role is ideal for a senior nurse who is passionate about advocacy, prevention, health equity, and quality improvement.

About You:

• NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• 5+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
• Knowledge of family violence and child protection issues
• Proficient PDRP or higher
• Relevant Postgraduate qualification completed or near completion
• Full and clean NZ Drivers Licence
