About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide visible and values-based leadership across Specialist Mental Health & Addictions Services in the Central West Coast locality.

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and business management of the service, while contributing to wider West Coast service planning and strategic development. Working closely with the Clinical Director of Mental Health and the District Leadership Team, you will help shape sustainable, integrated models of care that respond to the unique needs of our rural communities.

You will play a key leadership role within the Connecting Care | West Coast Health model, strengthening partnerships across specialist, primary, community, NGO and Kaupapa Māori services. With a strong focus on recovery, equity and person and whānau-centred care, you will lead initiatives that improve access, experience and outcomes for our communities.

This is a role where you can make a genuine difference, supporting service innovation, developing our people and workforce and helping to build a connected and sustainable rural health system across Te Tai o Poutini West Coast.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and strategic health leader who can bring people together, navigate complexity and lead meaningful change.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in senior health service management and operational leadership.
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate organisational priorities into practical service outcomes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and supporting workforce development in a complex environment.
• Strong financial, resource and performance management capability.
• A commitment to quality, risk management, continuous improvement and service innovation.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across professional, organisational and community boundaries.
• A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and improving outcomes for Māori.
• An understanding of, and commitment to, recovery-oriented, person and whānau-centred mental health and addictions services.
• An appreciation of the opportunities and challenges of delivering health services within a rural setting.
• Registered with the relevant professional regulatory authority and holding a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) if applicable.
